Zoning plan Bjerkreim

Zoning plan with impact assessment for 2,500 acres of commercial area for power-intensive industries such as data centres and battery production. Upgrading and establishment of 7 km of access road to road standard with parallel GS road and bridge over stream. Work process that has a completion time of min. 2 years, was completed in 1 year thanks to the use of VDC design methodology. Delivery of a planning programme, planning maps, planning provisions, illustration plans, 3D models, rigging and ground protection plan, ROS analysis and water and sewerage framework plan. Preparation of technical reports on traffic analysis, mass management, long-term population growth and area requirements, technical infrastructure and route analysis. Assistance was also provided with several other technical reports in connection with the EIA.

Role: The entire design responsibility for the customer with Project Manager, Area Planner, Subject Managers for Road, VA, LARK, VDC and BIM. Administration of subcontractors on Fire Engineering, Noise, EIA subjects such as natural resources, pollution, biodiversity, outdoor life, ecosystem services, cultural heritage and cultural environment, social impact, energy consumption and solutions, land use, climate and the subjects geology, ground conditions, landscape, cooling water and surplus energy. The application for a licence was carried out after the first plan proposal was adopted in 2021.

Value for the customer

Zoning plan with impact assessment carried out at 50% of the time when the project was carried out with a parallel process of zoning and impact assessment using VDC methodology. This entailed close interaction with technical subjects and the investigation phases where Vial collaborated with Bjerkreim municipality, Ecofact, Brekke & Strand AS and GrunnTeknikk AS.
